To become an Unarmed Security Guard in Utah you are required to have a license. The authority if the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. Your license has to be renewed every 2 years.

Unarmed Security Guard Requirements for Utah

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a valid Social Security number
  • Have a Driver’s License
  • Have 2 Fingerprint Cards or electronic fingerprinting charts
  • Your certificate of your 24-hours of completed classroom training with a minimum score of 80%
  • Be mentally competent
  • No alcohol or drug dependence
  • May have to pass a drug test
  • No prior convictions for felonies or misdemeanors
  • Be physically capable to do the job required of a Security Professional
  • Submit to a criminal background check from a reputable source
